March 27, we presented En el claro, un bosque, the first solo exhibition by artist Alexander Grahovsky at La Plataforma.
It inaugurated as part of AR-DE by Poblenou Urban District. A program of events accompanied the exhibition, offering attendees the opportunity to delve into Grahovsky’s artistic process.
The works in En el claro, un bosque function as open metaphors, where wandering figures, surreal landscapes, and fleeting moments of revelation converge. A red house stands solitary in the middle of the forest, a devil searches for shapes in the clouds, and unspoken words walk silently toward oblivion. These images invite the viewer to inhabit the in-between: that ambiguous space between the known and the unexplored.
As Ortega y Gasset wrote,
«Metaphor is the true name of things.» emphasizing the fluidity of meaning and the power of symbols. In this exhibition, Grahovsky embraces this vision, rejecting rigid interpretations in favor of an intuitive and immersive experience.
Although his work is deeply influenced by surrealism, it maintains a precise internal structure, creating a dynamic tension in which the absurd and the ritual coexist naturally, challenging the viewer to explore the limits of logic and imagination.
