This was a temporary installation by the artist Marina Salazar a.k.a No Queda Tinte, exhibited from February 4th to 6th as part of Off LLum BCN, the alternative circuit of Llum BCN, which focuses on light art and aims to showcase the creative spaces of the Poblenou Urban District creative community.
The lighting, “Erleuchtung” in German, explores the experience of the divine as a political act of faith, guidance, and power. The work highlights the duality of light and darkness, life and death, good and evil, sacred and forbidden, reflecting how these dichotomies condition us. In this modern ritual, candles are replaced by neon lights to reveal an erotic-festive piece that surprises with its aura.
“And in the end, everything we know about our light has been taught to us by our darkness.”
