Penique productions was established in Barcelona in 2007, specializing in ephemeral installations. Using monochromatic plastic balloons, they occupy a specific space, expanding the plastic to create custom pieces that give the space a new function, identity, light, texture, and sensory experience. The balloons define and make the intervened space visible, thereby constructing new environments.
After each installation, Penique reuses the balloon material, turning it into one-square-meter colored canvases. This material, when transformed, retains the memory of the events that took place, becoming a physical and lasting record of the ephemeral installations and acting as tangible remnants of the lived experiences.
In April and May 2024, their first exhibition, «[M2]», was held at the gallery.
