Amalia Caputo

(Caracas, 1964)

Visual artist, art writer, and independent curator working in photography, video, and installation. She has lived and worked in Miami since 2003. Her work is represented in the collections of Ella Fontanals Cisneros (Miami), Fundación Banco Mercantil and the Galería de Arte Nacional de Venezuela (Caracas), the Arturo and Liza Mosquera Collection, Miami International Airport, the Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City, among others.

Her interests revolve primarily around ideas of the feminine, the construction of visual archives, the preservation of memory, the study of what photography is, and the complex human relationships with landscape and nature. As a curator, she has organized solo exhibitions for Blanca Haddad (2021), Lía Bermúdez (2016), Bernadette Despujols (2017), and Luis Brito (2015), among others.
