PASIONES INTERNAS – Nina Murashkina

Nina Murashkina’s individual exhibition, ‘Pasiones internas’, focuses on the internal passions that inhabit the human being: secret desires, love, fear, loneliness, despair, and moments of extreme emotional intensity. Murashkina conceives the human as a vessel, an external form that may appear stable while containing a complex, contradictory inner life. In this series, ceramic vessels function as corporeal metaphors, capable of simultaneously concealing and revealing their inner worlds, while painting allows for a broader narrative and psychological development of each character.

Each artwork is built around an imaginary figure. During the creative process, Murashkina develops a detailed psychological profile and internal narrative for every character, translating these states into form, color, and symbolic imagery. References to Greek mythology, Medusa, Narcissus, Zeus, and other archetypal figures, interweave with the artist’s personal experiences and observations, expressed through a distinctly surreal and emotionally charged visual language.

Central to Murashkina’s practice is what she defines as ‘magical feminism’: a worldview in which reality is reinterpreted through a mythic lens. Her goddess-like heroines embody the dual nature of womanhood, lustful and innocent, provocative and tender, brutally honest and mysteriously dark. These powerful female figures appear as triumphant deities, capable of riding animals, wise men, or even the world itself, amplifying feminine strength through myth and imagination.

‘Pasiones internas’ offers an intimate yet mythological journey into the subconscious, where emotional intensity, fantasy, and ancient symbols converge to form deeply personal portraits of inner life.
