“Gracias a la vida” collects the works of Matías Krahn, chilean painter based in Barcelona, in his most vital and poetic facet. It is a plea for life in times of fear. The paintings that Krahn presents on this occasion convey, in a vitalist, symbolic, and direct way, what the title of the exhibition expresses: gratitude. Gratitude for what life gives us and for its continuity, gratitude for art, for the simple, for the mysterious that sustains life on Earth, and especially for the natural elements that uphold it.
Matías Krahn (Santiago, Chile, 1972) holds a degree and a cum laude PhD in Fine Arts. His painting, whose themes are the human, the earthly, and the intangible, explores the symbolic, representing the subtle codes that govern life. His painting acts as a window and mirror between two worlds, endowed with a force that alters the body, energizes, and connects with life.
